Morgan Chemij

Owning your name in the search space is of growing importance. Reputation management is essential whether your are the head of a Fortune 500 or just an average Joe. Recently, I googled myself, to see what I could dig up and what do you know a court record for a gore violation showed up in the top 10 results on Google. I fail to see how my driving record is worthwhile news these days? So, I decided to fight back by starting a blogger account in my name Morgan Chemij and linking to it from this blog. With any luck, both of these results will get picked up and I will have successfully pushed the traffic ticket result onto the second page!

(BTW a “gore violation” is crossing over the solid white line when you cut over to exist the highway too late, very expensive offense!)

Battlestar Galactica

March 12th, 2008 by seyoda

It constantly amazes me how shows from my childhood have started to resurface on TV and online. Of the many shows of yesteryear, none tickle my soul as much as BG has in the three years since it returned to prime time.

Almost as impressive as the show itself is the variety of sites that have popped up honoring this time honored classic. In particular, the coverage I have seen in the Battlestar Galactica section of UGO resonates in my mind as second to none.

In addition to some great pics, trivia, interviews and more some of the most recent news to come from the fourth quadrant has been in the form of a new Battlestar Galactica Season 3 DVD review. This DVD has it all, the deleted scenes alone make it worth the purchase. Best of all, the season 3 set is being released just prior to the launch of season four. So, if you are all about BG, now is the time to catch up and see what all the fuss is about!

Remodelling On The Local Level

February 5th, 2008 by seyoda

There are two different schools of thought in regards to increasing online visibility these days.  A) Buy It or B) Optimize for It, Which one works best?  That is where it gets tricky, a quick uptake in traffic can simply be bought and will allow for great visibility quickly.  Ultimately however, over the course of a year, money would be better spent on B) SEO.

A great example can be seen in two small New Jersey remodeling sites  Fentell.com and FentellRemodeling.com each of which has taken local to a whole new level.   It appears as though the decision makers and Fentell really understand the renovations and home additions market in New Jersey and how to address their audience appropriately.   A brief glance at their sitemap reveals the creation of a variety of local level pages that are built not just around Cherry Hill Remodeling but also local level pages around New Homes In Cherry Hill.

The results seem to speak for the effectiveness of local search.  A glance at high level terms like south Jersey remodeling as well as niche terms like Haddon Heights Bathroom Remodeling both show some great visibility within Google.  The end-end is local search works, it drives highly qualified traffic and offers a great opportunity for any company with a brick & mortar presence.
